10 FAQs:

1. Will this adapter support 4K 120Hz on my PlayStation 5?

Yes, absolutely. This HDMI 2.1 adapter is designed to handle the full 48Gbps bandwidth, making it fully compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X for 4K at 120Hz gaming with VRR.

2. Does it cause any signal loss or lag?

A high-quality adapter like this, with gold-plated contacts and a proper internal board, is designed for minimal to no signal loss. It will not introduce any perceptible lag or degrade picture quality.

3. Can I use it for my 8K Samsung or LG TV?

Yes, it is perfect for 8K TVs. UNITEK C11072BK-10M 4K Fiber Optic HDMI 2.0 Cable 10 Meter, 4K 60Hz, 18Gbps, HDR, Dolby Vision, ARC, HDCP 2.2 for TV, Projector and Gaming – Black It supports the full 8K@60Hz resolution specified by HDMI 2.1, ensuring you get a pristine signal from your 8K source to your display.

4. What is the difference between the 90-degree and 270-degree positions?

The adapter can be rotated. The 90-degree position bends the cable to the right (or left, depending on orientation), while the 270-degree position bends it to the opposite direction. This gives you flexibility to route the cable along the wall or cabinet.

5. Is it compatible with older HDMI 2.0 or 1.4 devices?

Yes, it is fully backward compatible. You can use it with older devices that support HDMI 2.0 or 1.4; it will simply operate at the lower standard’s maximum capability (e.g., 4K@60Hz).

6. Do I need a special HDMI cable to use with this adapter?

For best results with 8K or 4K 120Hz, you should use a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable (48Gbps). UNITEK C11085GY01-30M 8K Fiber Optic HDMI 2.1 Cable 30 Meter, 8K 60Hz, 4K 144Hz, 48Gbps, Dynamic HDR, eARC, VRR, ALLM for Gaming, TV and Projector – Black For lower resolutions, a standard High-Speed HDMI cable will work. Find the right Ultra High Speed HDMI cable for your setup.

7. Can I use two adapters back-to-back to create a different angle?

It is not recommended to daisy-chain multiple adapters, as this can increase the risk of signal degradation. One adapter is usually sufficient for solving clearance issues.

8. Will it fit behind my wall-mounted TV that is flush to the wall?

Yes, this is its primary use case. Its extremely low profile is specifically designed to fit in the tiny gap between a wall-mounted TV and the wall, where a straight connector would not.

9. Is the gold plating important?

Yes. Gold plating reduces corrosion and ensures better conductivity over time compared to cheaper nickel or tin plating, leading to a more reliable and durable connection.

10. Does it work with soundbars using eARC?

Yes. Since it supports all HDMI 2.1 features, it will perfectly pass through the eARC signal from your TV to your soundbar or AV receiver, allowing for high-bitrate audio formats like Dolby TrueHD.
